Painting inspires my soul and spirit, at times I am able to focus and live more deeply, and there is a connection to the whole (past, present & future) that I feel like never before.
I have discovered that using oil and cold wax allows for surface build up, transparency by mixing more cold wax with a small amount of paint, printmaking techniques, and texture variety to become a part of the finished piece. The physical act of painting and mark making can be explored due to the addition of adding cold wax medium with oil paint, creating a slower drying time. There is a transparency to the color which is strong yet seductive.
